Pleasure Raft returns with a new single and announces debut album .
Pleasure Raft is the new musical output for Mathias Barfod, former lead singer in ‘The Attic Sleepers’. Where his former band The Attic Sleepers left, Pleasure Raft continues in a more rocking and energetic direction. The songs are based on his own personal stories and experiences and range from grandiose and spherical songs to small minimalist ballads.
The new single ‘Color Blue’ is written from little chapters in a dusty old diary Mathias wrote in the summer of 2021.
“If I were to analyze the lyrics it is roughly written about feeling inadequate. The vibe of the song is written with bands like DIIV, Wild Nothing and Beach Fossils in mind, mixed with a dash of Queens of the Stone Age, Smashing Pumpkins and likeminded stoner and grunge rock bands. ‘Color Blue’ was not intended for the record, but I think it blends together the grandiose songs with the melancholy universe really well. It was written and thought of as a liveshow only kind of song, but now it will also be a part of my 8-track debut album which will be released on November 25,” Mathias says about the song.
Pleasure Raft was formed in 2017 and has released the self-titled EP in 2019 and three singles which is taken from his forthcoming debut album.
